the power of brands

Hey there! Long time, no see. But here I am again. I'm waiting for Diana to finish her exams so we can both make this blog an active one.
Here's an interesting experiment. It's an attempt to evaluate the actual power of brands by making Austrian people draw a total of twelve logos (9 international, 3 typically European) from memory, 25 people per brand.

new spot for Honda Civic

We couldn't miss the new spot for Honda Civic by W&K London. There are voices that say this is too demonstrative, that it lacks the rational of the connection between the chorus and the car, that it's a nice ideea, but there could've been more suspense, crescendo and anticipation.... Oh well, I belive it's a very strong idea that captures the experience of the brand in a very penetrating and natural way without needing other explanations. What do you think?

12 days of advertising business

If you wanna know how things work in an agency, listen to this. Fun stuff! :)
"Life's less serious when you drive the New Beetle." says the headline of this print.
Well...I'm guessing that most of the romanians can't relate to the message in this particular print. This is not funny, is the cruel reality that stopped to be funny long time ago!
Does this print fails to cross an intercultural barrier over here or I'm just being crazy this morning?

It's a time of looking back with a critic eye and see what went right and what went wrong in 2005 and most importantly why. After you've done this, start your new year resolutions list (if you haven't already). The beginning of the year is a good time to write this list. But don't forget that the rest of the year is just as good. The truth is we need objectives. This is how Aquafina thought of it. Here. They made short films out of people's resolutions. Nice idea, although the connection with the water seems a little forced to me...but then again I don't know the story of this brand...

it's all about learning

WK London had a great idea with the pudding sacks. No agency in Romania (not sure bout the rest of the world) thought of making a campaign to tell people to clean up after themselves this holydays. Maybe next year.
Oh, I made a comment on the WKL blog...I (sometimes) believe in marriage, but I really ment "Keep the world Merry, guys!" It's hard with all that wine still swimming around in my blood :). But we all know faliure makes it perfect. So everybody, enjoy making mistakes in 2006 and in general!
